Keywords and marketing techniques are the life-blood of successful web sites, whether the successful web sites know it or not!
Web searchers input their requests into the search engine, let's say they type 'Keywords and Marketing' into Google.
Google considers the whole phrase as one keyword phrase. It then searches its data base for the closest matches it can for that phrase, and returns all the pages that it finds with that keyword phrase, in the order that it determines to be the most relevant.
For a page to rank highly for that keyword, i.e. to appear in the top 30 search results, above all of the other pages it could have shown, you need to score more search engine points for that keyword phrase than the competing pages.
To score more search engine points, the keyword phrase should appear in the website URL, file name, page title, keywords, description, headline, sub-headlines, body text, outgoing links, incoming links, related pages and text on and off the site linking to and from the page.
Not only should the keyword phrase appear on all of the above, but also it should appear in the correct keyword density. This means that for each of the above, it should appear the right number of times, relative to the other words around it.
For example the title of this page is 'Keywords and Marketing Help'. So if someone searched on the keyword phrase 'Keywords and Marketing' this title would be 75% correct because three out of four words are correct. If I had called it 'Keywords and Marketing Help For You' then I would only be 50% correct for the same phrase.
If you put your keyword too few times in the description for example, then your competition will be above you, too many times and the search engine may think you are spamming them with excess keywords, and will penalize you for it. This may cause them to drop your page or your site altogether.
Every search engine works to a different set of rules, which is why the same keyword phrase returns different results in Yahoo than in Google. This means you need to be aware of all the keyword density and submission rules, for all of the different search engines. Over-submit using excess keywords and you're toast!
And just when you think you are on top of it all, they change the rules every few months!
I get round all of these problems using 'Site Build It'
They show me how to build the page according to the latest set of rules and when I have built the page they submit it to all of the major search engines. More importantly they won't over-submit, so I can be sure not to get penalized.
'Site Build It' showed me how to do it the other way round. It helped me to find out exactly where my customers were before I even started my site, and before I start each page, so I can be sure to get loads of fresh free customers visiting, without having to go out to find them.
Quick question. Which balloon seller will sell the most balloons, the one standing in the desert alongside another 1000 other balloon sellers, or the one standing alone outside the busiest shop in your high street?
Quick answer. The one in your high street with all the potential customers walking past, right! 'Site Build It' helps you to put your pages where people have to 'step over' to get past. People HAVE to look at your pages!
This is how 'Site Build It' helps me as well using keywords and marketing research. They give me the tools to find out exactly how many people look for my proposed keyword or keyword phrase, and they also tell me how much competition there is for that phrase.
Before I built this page using 'Site Build It', I researched over 1000 other related, similar keyword phrases, to make sure that I chose the phrase most likely to enable my page to be seen in the magic top 30 results.
For example, as you may have guessed, the keyword phrase for this page is 'keywords and marketing'! I knew before I wrote the first word of this page, that 2600 people were looking for that exact phrase, in the month before I started writing.
I also knew that only 1060 other pages on the web also returned perfectly relevant results for the phrase 'keywords and marketing'.
If I hadn't done this research, I could have just as easily chosen 'keyword search' as my keyword phrase for this page. Would you honestly at this point, think that 'keywords and marketing' had any significant advantage over 'keyword search'?
Then look at this. 'keyword search' had 2400 people who looked for that exact phrase, in the same month, just 200 less than 'keywords and marketing'.
Very similar results so far, but. . . I also knew that in Google 5,330,000 other pages on the web also returned relevant results for 'keyword search'. That's over 5 million other pages to compete against, instead of just 1060.
To summarize
'keywords and marketing'. Demand = 2600/month. Supply = 1060
'keyword search'. Demand = 2400/month. Supply = 5330000
So, before I even started this page, I had the advantage of choosing a phrase, which has a massive marketing advantage over a very similar phrase!
Add that advantage to the page building help, search engine submission, site structure, content rules and link finding help, and I think you can see why you found this page, out of all of the other pages available on the other 65 million web sites out there.
I couldn't begin to do all this without the help of 'Site Build It' and if you want your web site to succeed, you could do it with their help too.
You will find as I did, that it is far easier and cheaper than you would think to do it properly the first time.
And if you think you can do all this without their help, all I can say is GOOD LUCK. You are going to need a lot of it!
P. S. Within 3 months this page was above the top 30 in Google out of 1300, with around 100 (free) visitors per month.
